CrocoBrain for researchers

Every claim, traceable to its source.

Independent research lives and dies on provenance. CrocoBrain is built on one rule that fits the discipline: the brain may only assert what it can cite — from your own reading notes, interviews and field material.

A citation chain you can audit

Answers cite wiki notes; wiki notes cite the underlying sources; sources keep their capture and publication metadata. When you reuse a claim months later, the trail back to the original is intact.

A literature that talks to itself

Linked notes across authors, concepts and domains turn isolated reading notes into a navigable web. Ask a question and the brain traverses your structure — index, links, then back down into the sources — the way a careful reader would.

Disagreement is data

When two of your sources — or your own notes from different years — contradict each other, CrocoBrain surfaces the pair and asks you to arbitrate: a genuine dispute in the field, a scoping distinction, or a change in your own position. The arbitration is recorded.

Plain-text durability

The vault exports as plain, Obsidian-compatible Markdown with full frontmatter. Your notes outlive any tool — including this one. That is by design.

The honest fit

CrocoBrain is not a reference manager and doesn't replace one. It is the layer above: the structured, cited thinking built on top of what you read. If your notes deserve better than a folder of fragments, start free and ingest one project's reading.
